Hey,

I use NeoOffice often and was wondering if there is a legal spellcheck available for free anywhere?

If not, I was wondering if anyone would be interesting developing one, or how I would go about it? Basically I would just want the words to be in spell check and as I went through school I would work on updating it with words I used and that I found were not included.

On a side note, why does printing to PDF look so much sexier then NeoOffice? Is there any way to make NeoOffice text look the same?

Primarily, the issue is resolution. Most screens have a resolution of 72 to maybe 200 dots per inch (DPI) where most newer printers have resolutions of greater than 2000 DPI. The greater resolution of printers allows you to actually see all of the pixels in a high resolution images whereas on screen a block of 10 x 10 pixels in the image, for example, translates into only 1 pixel on screen.

Sorry - that was poorly stated... I meant printing to PDF from NeoOffice.

Why to the same documents in PDF look much nicer then NeoOffice - I noticed in particular the font looks better.

Can you please clarify your question? Is it:

1) documents look better on screen when viewed in Adobe Reader or Preview (after printing to PDF with NeoOffice) than when viewed in the NeoOffice window; why?

or

2) documents look better on paper when printing to paper with Adobe Reader or Preview (after printing to PDF with Neo) than when printing directly to paper with NeoOffice; why?

Sorry, I re-read and noticed it didn't clarify anything.

On the computer screen documents look much nicer viewed from Acrobat Reader as a PDF after conversion from ODT, then when viewed as ODT in NeoOffice.
