|
I started a page to update the feature comparison for Neo 2.2.2 vs OOo 2.3 vs Office 2004 and added/updated a few things. We need to figure out what things 2.3 has added (Address Book?) and changed, and any new Neo features I'm forgetting.
We might also want to add "Charting" to the 3-way chart, since 2.3 has a new chart module (I'm interested to see if it comes closer to Excel now, for those who've played...).

Not sure about the new chart (haven't played with it myself), but the OS X Address Book isn't found in the "Address Data Source…" wizard in OOo/X11 2.3.0… |

This OOo Wiki page has the full load.
Apparently, Calc now has matrix and cotangent functions and there are several chart types that could not be made or imported earlier but are now possible. More on that can be found here.
They aren't as specific as I'd like them to be...
best wishes,

I can also confirm that OOo 2.3 does not include their native spellchecker code.
I did make one change, however. I marked "Optimized PDF generation" as "yes" for OOo 2.3 as their PDF export does work fully. Its only issue is that it embeds the document's X11 fonts. Please let me know if I misunderstand what this feature is referring to.

Oscar added that entry right after you had done some optimization of the OOo PDF export code (probably sometime back in the Neo/J 1.1 era), so I'm not positive at this point what was meant
I made a few additional, minor changes to the page today? Does anyone have anything else they think we need to add, or change, on that page? 2.2.2 has been long enough that we really should make it "live" if it's accurate.

I made the English, French, and Italian 2.2.2 pages live today, and pointed their respective Main Page feature comparison links to the 2.2.2 pages.
