I have several bugs that have been reported against NeoOffice/J 1.1 Alpha 2 and I have posted "patch-1". WARNING: "patch-1" is packaged in a Mac OS X installer tool so please let me know if the new patch installer works correctly or if you encounter any problems with it. If no one has any problems with the new patch installer over the next couple of days, I will post "patch-1" on the Neo/J download site.

In my case, the patch seemed to work (it used to be patch level 10, it now claims to be patch level 1), except that it still refers to itself as NeoOffice/J 1.1 Alpha 1, instead of Alpha 2. I checked the filename of the patch but that says Alpha 2..

I didn't feel like filing a bug since it seems like a rather simple issue.. Other than that it seems to everything Alpha 1 Patch 10 used to do for me, so no compliants here and now. Thanks again for all the time and hard work!

Maybe there's a string we can change somewhere to make it say "Alpha 2."

By the way, the update seemed to work fine even though my NeoOffice/J is in a subfolder of /Applications (yes, I know, I'm not supposed to do that).

The installer for Patch-1 worked perfectly here. Also, my about box says Alpha 2, patch-1. So all is well. Smile

I found the file that has "1.1 Alpha 1" string and I will add this file to this list of files that the patch installer updates in the next patch.

The patch installer will upgrade Neo/J 1.1 Alpha 1 patch-6 or later. Also, it will search the selected volume's /Applications directory for any Neo/J installations and upgrade any installations that it finds.

And in the meantime, the impatient or scrupulous can patch it by hand:
NeoOfficeJ.app/Contents/share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Setup.xcu

The installer for Patch-1 worked perfectly. Also, it says Alpha 2, patch-1. As usual, no problems.

FYI. I just posted "Patch-2" here:

http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/download.php#install

"Patch-2" contains the files that were missing in "Patch-1" plus a few bug fixes and enhancements.

Patrick,

The weird font-replacement-bug fix looks fine. Optima has me optimistic again.

Thanks,

PostPosted: Thu Oct 14, 2004 6:46 am    Post subject: cell selection goes nuts

Hello,
I have NeoOffice/J 1.1 alpha 2. I run it on Panther 10.3.5.
I open an excel document, select some cells with the mouse and Copy to clipboard (Apple-C).
I deselect those cell and hide NeoOffice (Apple-H).
I bring back NeoOffice to front, cell selection goes nuts. Every cell I click on get colored black (or white if it was black) as I were selecting, while I'm not.
If I press Apple-C to copy something goes even more nuts.

This happened both before and now, after adding the Aqua patch.

Thank you very much!

Since I have updated with the patch, I have this error message when I want to save.

Quote:
Error while loading BASIC of the document file:///*******
General error
General error of input/output

When I close the window it re-appears again always, I have to force quit ...
