When I click a graphic, OOo launches my system's default graphics editor (MM Fireworks Studio MX 2004) by default. Unfortunately, the system launches ~20+ Macrovision/Authentication processes, and my system slows to a crawl. I can kill the process IDs every time, but it gets annoying. What's worse, graphics on the page somehow 'grab' clicks in the window, without launching my default graphics editor (i.e., I can't click anywhere in the document window--although I can click on toolbars & menus).

Here are my questions:

How do I disable launching of my default editor on a single click? (I tried disabling 'File manager: Program' but that didn't work.)

How can I make the graphics 'selection' tool's context-menu show up when I right-click an image? (Currently only the 'text' items in the context-menu show up [e.g., Font, Style, etc.])

Hmm...the File Manager URL is the only thing that comes to the top of my head. If you look through in that same configuration dialog for the helper handlers, you'll see that they're mapped to /usr/bin/open. Try getting rid of all of them adn then adding them back in one by one. The /usr/bin/open handlers are the only possible places where a default OOo configuration could be opening a native application (if you've added in custom shell commands or other handlers it may be from there too).

As to the context menu, I unfortunatley don't know an answer off the top of my head Sad

I'll see if I modifying the other File Manager options can help.

Also, I want to clarify a couple of things that don't appear correct in my post, with the hope it may offer some new piece of information:

Actually, when I click somewhere in the window, it launches the default graphics editor (I don't have to click on a graphic... OOo assumes I'm clicking on the last graphic selected). I have to 'remember' to click on the "Show Graphics Object Palette" in the toolbar along the left *before* I click in the window or OOo launches the default graphics editor.

Actually, I can get the 'Drawing' context menu to show if I 'remember' to click on the "Show Graphics Object Palette" in the toolbar along the left, and then choose the 'Arrow' selection tool *before* I 'right-click'. But if I'm editing text, and then right-click a graphic object, I get the 'Text' context-menu.

I've observed this behavior in both OOo and NeoOffice. I've installed, uninstalled and re-installed both, and also have had them both installed at the same time, and they both behave similarly. NeoOffice was installed 2nd, and I observed the behavior in OOo before I installed NeoOffice.

If it occurs in both OOo and NeoOffice/J, you have most likely stumbled upon a plain old OOo bug. Not that that helps, but at least you have eliminated installation problems or your X11 server from the equation.
