Hi all. I've just installed neooffice/j and ...wow! fantastic!
However i don't know how to install the italian spellchecker. I copied the files it_IT.aff ,it_IT.dic (from OO) into /share/dict/ooo and then under options setted language to italian. But after going under the options of the SpellChecker only english pops up. The dictionary.lst file seems correct with the line # DICT it IT it_IT . What am i missing?
Thanks.

If you only see English available, it means that the first time you ran Neo/J your preferred language in the System Preferences application was English.
Since you are now using Italian, you can do the following steps to enable the Italian spellchecker:
1. Close Neo/J and make sure that your preferred language in System Preferences is Italian.
2. Delete the ~/Library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1/user/wordbook/dictionary.lst file.
3. Restart Neo/J and in Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Languages, make sure that the default language for documents is set to Italian.

I just found the easy solution javascript:emoticon(''). I simply added the line it IT it_IT in ~/library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1/user/wordbook/dictionary.lst (i didn't noticed this file before reading your post). Now everything works just fine. |

FYI. Since so many people have been having problems with getting spellcheck to work. I added code to Neo/J that will append any missing lines to your ~/Library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1/user/wordbook/dictionary.lst so that Neo/J will properly handle things when you change your preferred language in the System Preferences application.
I will include this change in the next Neo/J patch.
