Hi. I 've just installed the patch, hoping to see the menus at the top of the screen -- see http://tbray.org/ongoing/When/200x/2004/10/17/NeoOfficePatch3 -- but they're still in the same place.

Did I miss something?

Bit confused that you have an aqua menus screenshot but write that the menus haven't moved. Which patch three did you download aqua or non-aqua?

As Patrick announced:

"But if you would like to test the new Aqua menus, you can download "Patch-3-Aqua-Menus" from here:

http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/downloads/patches/NeoOfficeJ-1.1_Alpha_2-Patch-3-Aqua-Menus.dmg

If you find this patch too buggy to use, you can switch back to the old non-Aqua menus by downloading and installing "Patch-3" from here:

http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/download.php#install

"

Someone (AlanL ?) in another thread has pointed out this problem - Tim Bray links directly to the www.planamesa.com website for NO/J where the current "patch 3" posted is for the non-aqua menus version only! The aqua menus version can only be obtained via the link supplied by Patrick in the front page article posted here at the trinity website so anyone reading Bray's article is going to end up with the wrong patch.

Considering that the current aqua menus patch 3 has (what is for me) a showstopping bug in it - it is impossible to print anything at the moment - this may not be such a terrible thing. Wink

Either Tim Bray needs to point his link to trinity instead of planamesa or Patrick needs to include a link to the aqua menus patch at planamesa as well as the non-aqua menus version.

Edit: I just sent Tim Bray a (hopefully) polite e-mail to ask him to provide a link that points directly to the thread about the aqua menus patch, or to point to trinity instead of planamesa, so hopefully it'll a) reach him and b) he won't be offended by it!
