Welcome, yakusha!

You can find information about getting a wiki editing account here

You should also take a look at Guidelines for Translating the Neowiki.

The English and French wikis are the most complete, so you could take your pick from those two languages for your translating base.

I've just set up yakusha's wiki account, and let me join Lorinda in saying "Welcome" and that we're excited to see a Dutch translation of the NeoWiki!

Though I have a certain background of computers and programming, I'm new to this wikiing.
But I do hope to get the main page up asap.

PostPosted: Sat Oct 25, 2008 7:48 am    Post subject: Category problem

hi everyone,

I've stumbled on problem in using the Dutch category.
As mentioned in the translation guidelines I tagged each NL:page I've made as
[Category:NeoWikiNL]
After reading en rereading the help pages here at NeoWiki as well at WikiMedia it all boils down to this -- When a new category is entered on a wikipage the software will automatically create a matching page --
Now, it isn't happening for me.
I've still haven't ruled out that I've made a mistake somewhere, but if we are certain that I didn't will someone please look in to this.

or...heeeeelllp Laughing

thanx,

hi everyone,

http://neowiki.neooffice.org/index.php/Troubleshooting_Tips#Disable_system_hacks

In this topic there's a list of the folders to check for presence of subfolders.
this folders path
Code:
/System/Library/SystemConfiguration

is in mine Dutch version of OS X (10.4.11)
Code:
/Macintosh HD/Bibliotheek/Prefrences/SystemConfiguration

are we talking about the same thing?

Code:
/Macintosh HD/Bibliotheek/Prefrences/SystemConfiguration
gaat dit over hetzelfde?

thanx,

Those are the same.

Macintosh HD is the system root volume so /bibliotheek/preferences/ is the same as Macintosh HD/bibliotheek/preferences/

groetjes,
Oscar

One of the paths starts with /System, which is that "System" folder at the root of the HD that no one is supposed to go mucking with (but clearly people do, given its presence in that list).

yakusha, it's possible that this folder has moved in different OS versions. I'm on my 10.3.9 box right now, and it's definitely at /System/Library/SystemConfigurations on it. I'll try to remember to check my 10.5.5 box later....

Category "pages" are funny, in that the part of the page that lists all the other pages in the category gets created automatically, but the page shows up in red ("not created") until you add some text to the top of it. This seems a little silly, but that's MediaWiki.

I went ahead and added the logo and slogan to the NeoWikiNL page so that it will show up as a live page in the footer from now on.

On my 10.5.5 Intel Mac, there are two SystemConfiguration folders:

Code:
/System/Library/SystemConfiguration

(Macintosh HD > System > Library > SystemConfiguration)

Code:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

(Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > SystemConfiguration)

yakusha: in a Unix-style path, the first / means the root directory on the boot drive (which may or may not be called Macintosh HD).

So

Code:
/folder

means Startup Volume > folder, where Startup Volume represents the startup volume (the volume on which Mac OS X is installed), whether that volume is called Macintosh HD or not…

Edit: I edited the Wiki page to make it more obvious that / is the startup volume Arrow http://neowiki.neooffice.org/index.php/Troubleshooting_Tips#Disable_system_hacks

hi,
Thanx everyone for explaining.
I agree with Samwise I've found also two SystemConfiguration folders one with .bundle files en one with .plist files.
I also agree with Smokey that you shouldn't be mucking around with the System folder.

hi everyone,

De Documentatie en verwante bronnen wiki pagina staat online.
Alle toepasselijke links naar Nederlandstalige documentatie om deze pagina aan te vullen is welkom.

The Dutch translation of Documentation and Related resources is online.
It"s stil stubby at this time, so all help to expand the Dutch page is welcome.

thanx,

yakusha sent me a message Friday about the Dutch translation of the NeoWiki. I looked over the pages and it looks like the Dutch wiki now has a good core of translated articles, so I've just taken the Dutch wiki "live".

Thanks to yakusha for all the fine work so far and all the work yet to come! Wink
