but I downloaded NeoOffice today and cannot seem to open my Excel spreadsheets. Am I looking in the wrong places? Or is it a different file I have to download?

What kind of Excel files are you trying to open (extension, Excel version)? When were they created?

Okay, I have finally managed to open an excel file (xls). I have a few questions:

1. Are the spreadsheet and document files in the same program?

2. How can I create an icon for my desktop?

3. What is the bit.torrent program file/program for?

Okay, I just answered at least one of my questions. I see the icon on the dock. And I clicked on it and saw 'spreadsheet' - sorry, I just got a Macbook yesterday - always used a PC before, so this is all brand new.

Wouldn't mind the answers to the bit.torrent question, though.

BitTorrent has nothing to do with NeoOffice, except for the fact that you can use it to download NeoOffice if you want to. You can find detailed information about BitTorrent on Wikipedia:

Basically, it's just a way to transmit large files over the internet without needing a powerful server and lots of bandwidth. With BitTorrent, the bandwidth required is shared between all the computers that are downloading and/or seeding (uploading) the file(s).
