This should be an easy one:
I use a dark background colour and light text. However, unlike with Alternative Text Colours in Bean, NeoOffice's cursor stays black all the time, making it very difficult to see.

I have badd news: implementing this feature is not easy at all. The text cursor in NeoOffice is not drawn by drawing a black rectangle. Instead, NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code draws the cursor by invoking a drawing operation called "invert pixels" within the cursor's area on the screen.
The invert pixels operation works by taking whatever color is already on the screen, calculating its inverted color, and then drawing the inverted color. This operation is done on each pixel in the cursor area so that inverting a white background draws as black, inverting a blue background draws as yellow, etc.
The invert pixels operation is deeply embedded in NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code and, unfortunately, our very limited funding and developer resources limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and expanding OpenOffice.org's features is outside that scope.
You can file a feature request in the OpenOffice.org issue tracker to get it on the radar of the core OpenOffice.org developers and if they implement your feature request, the new behavior will get included in a future release of NeoOffice:
Note : our advice is to not mention NeoOffice as mentioning NeoOffice may cause OOo volunteers to accidentally close it without actually reviewing your feature request.
