I was just wondering what people's experiences are with memory usage in Neo 3.0?
Neo 2.2.5 uses about 98mb to 100mb if launched and just left in the background. 3.0 is using about 155mb in the same circumstances!
Just wondering if that's about the average in this release?

I am seeing the following resident memory values after launching both OpenOffice.org 3.0 and NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access with only an empty Writer document:
- OpenOffice.org 3.0 = 105 MB
- NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access = 111 MB
The different between the two looks roughly what I would expect from our extra Java runtime, classes, and data so it appears that OpenOffice.org 3.0 loads much more in memory at startup than they did in OpenOffice.org 2.2.1.

Just for clarity (I suddenly realised I wasn't very clear in my earlier post), I was comparing Neo 3.0 with Neo 2.2.1, rather than with OOo 3.0.
Well I suppose it doesn't matter if you've got enough memory on your computer. Seems funny that Neo 3.0 loads so much quicker yet loads more at the start - an engineering feat!
And it it definately faster than Ooo 3.0.

I had failed to mention that NeoOffice 2.2.5 does use less resident memory than NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access. I had jumped straight to my findings as to what is causing the increase in memory usage.
