Hi

Love the 3.0 so far! Now that I can see track changes and comments more easily, I can ditch M$ when working on complex documents with many collaborators.

One potential bug. The dates/times in the comments seem to be changed to what ever time the document was opened when importing a word file in the old .doc format. This is not the case for the times of insertions and deletions. The creator appears to stay the same.

I do not see this same behavior in odt or docx files.

I have some bad news, I see the same behavior in OpenOffice.org 3.0. This is a new feature in OpenOffice.org 3.0, which is the underlying code for NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access.

Unfortunately, our very limited funding and developer resources limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and fixing OpenOffice.org bugs is outside that scope.

You can file a bug in the OpenOffice.org issue tracker to get it on the radar of the core OpenOffice.org developers and if they fix the bug, the new behavior will get included in a future release of NeoOffice:

http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html

Note : our advice is to not mention NeoOffice as mentioning NeoOffice may cause OOo volunteers to accidentally close it without actually reviewing your bug.

ok. Good advice, I'll search there and file the bug if it's not there already.

Looks like this it already reported and in the process of being fixed. The note I got said it would be resolved in 3.1 release.

Thank you for posting a link to the bug In OpenOffice.org's IssueTracker. I had done a quick search and not seen it.

I missed it on the first search there as well. But the dev that reviewed it nailed it as a duplicate right away, and I tracked the link down from there.
