This is not a bug, but a hearty thanks to our two faithful programmers, who have done a great job with this version. It may be an early version, but I really like it, find it much faster, very stable, and want you to know how much your work with NeoOffice is appreciated.

I agree very much, and I have the idea that the set of bugs encountered so far was relatively benign. If that is due to Patrick and Ed's exhaustive testing or the OOo codebase attaining some maturity, I cannot tell.

This also reminds me of something:

I haven't seen Ed around here for ages. What happened to our intrepid Chief Visionary?

Best wishes,
Oscar

I think it is due to a combination of both things. After having NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access out for a few weeks now, I have not seen any crashes that are occurring in the OpenOffice.org application code. While OpenOffice.org 3.0 has a lot of hanging and crashing bug reports, it appears that most of those are in the Mac OS X-specific code and not in the general application code.

As a result, replacing their Mac OS X code with ours has seemed to work surprisingly smoothly. Very Happy

Best of both worlds, then Very Happy.

Any word on my other question? Or will you leave that for the One to answer himself?

Good night,
Oscar

I will leave Ed to explain what he is doing as I never know myself. After all, he has a full time job and lives at the other end of California so if I did not see him in person a couple times each year, I wouldn't necessarily believe that he was a real person. Wink

Promoted to manager he was.

On the path of the dark side he is.

Mysterious the ways of the programmer.

Oh no, I'm fine...I've been trying to spend more of my home time on NeoMobile client development over the last few weeks after I finished moving my home servers over, so my trinity reading has gotten really behind Smile Plus, msot times when I'm reading Patrick, Fran, or someone else has already jumped in, so I don't have anything to add Wink

I'd been wondering "what happened" to that since I'd heard the announcement of iWork.com last month Wink
