Over the last 6 years that our Trinity site has been running, our list of registered users had grown to over 35,000 users. While this may seem like a lot of users, the reality is that almost 80% of those users were people who never posted and did not even visit this site a second time after registering.
This may seem unusual, but in all versions through NeoOffice 2.1, NeoOffice used OpenOffice.org's "first run" dialog and that dialog was wired so that the Register Now radio button (the default) opened this site. So, many users registered apparently because they thought it was necessary. We removed that dialog starting with NeoOffice 2.2.1 Early Access and since then, the rate of new user registrations is much lower and most new users now post at least once.
Since those 80% that registered once, never posted, and never visited again had a lock on user names, I deleted all users that meet all of the following criteria in order to free up their locked user names for future use:
- Has no posts in the forums
- Never sent any PMs
- User registerd before 1 January 2008
