To test my theory, can you try the following steps? This will force NeoOffice to create new user preferences with default values:

1. Quit NeoOffice
2. Move the following folders if they exist to your Desktop or Trash. Note that "~" means your Home folder:

~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-3.0
~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-2.2

3. Restart NeoOffice

Just to be clear the above steps must be completed in the order listed. You must quit NeoOffice before removing the folders. It is important to remove both folders.

Are you still seeing both windows docked on the left after repeating the above steps?

here is what I did, just repeated it, same result....

1. Quit Neooffice
2. Remove the folder ~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-3.0

The others are still gone - I removed Neooffice 1x, 2.1, 2,2, 2x, and 3.0 in my case earlier

3. Open NeoOffice
4. open navigator
5. dock navigator
6. open styles
7 dock styles - it automatically goes left
8. command drag styles to the right side
9. Close document and quit neo
10 Start neo - both the navigator and styles panels are now on the left.

Let me know if you want me to test anything else.

I think that I have fixed the Command-Shift-F10 bug and I have posted links to a test patch in my last post in bug 3432.

Can anyone install the test patch in that bug and tell us if this bug is fixed for you?

Thank you for the detailed steps. I was able to replicate the behavior of the docked windows moving to the right using your steps.

I have bad news, this same behavior occurs in OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 (which NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access 2 is based on) so this is an OpenOffice.org bug and not a NeoOffice bug.

Unfortunately, our very limited funding and developer resources limits the current scope of the NeoOffice project to keeping a native version of OpenOffice.org running on Mac OS X and fixing OpenOffice.org bugs is outside that scope.

You can file a bug in the OpenOffice.org issue tracker to get it on the radar of the core OpenOffice.org developers and if they fix the bug, the new behavior will get included in a future release of NeoOffice:

http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html

Note: our advice is to not mention NeoOffice as mentioning NeoOffice may cause OOo volunteers to accidentally close it without actually reviewing your bug.

FYI: I took a look at OpenOffice.org's Issue Tracker and found Issue 92828 has been filed for this bug so there is no need to file a new bug.
