In a couple of weeks, we plan to add a new "file version" feature in NeoOffice Mobile. This feature will allow you to view or download the last upload before the most recent upload for each file.

Although Tim is still implementing this feature, we are saving the last upload whenever you overwrite an existing file in NeoOffice Mobile so that, when Tim has this code working, you will be able to test this feature with your existing files.

One question that Ed and I have for NeoOffice Mobile testers is what should we call this feature? The term "file version" makes sense to software programmers, but we suspect that it may sound like software industry jargon to most people.

Would a term like "backup copies" or "previous uploads" better describe the feature? Or should we call it something else?

I don't have any great ideas right now, but if NeoMobile will only preserve the one previous revision, I'd try to avoid using anything that's an "unqualified plural" (which might lead people to believe NeoMobile keeps >1 previous version of the file).

Perhaps "Previous Version" or "Last Version"?

FYI. If people like the file version feature, after NeoOffice 3.0.1 is released we may look at expand the feature for more than one version.

'Previous Version' seems to me the most unambiguous. Make it 'Versions' if you start saving more than one Smile.

FYI. I have changed all occurrences of "File Version" and "File Version History" to "Previous Versions" and you should see the new text the next time that you log into the NeoOffice Mobile test pages.
