I currently having trouble posting links. I just made a post a few minutes ago on the support forum and got the message about not allowing non-donors to post links. Strangely, however, it didn't have a problem with my current signature which passed without a hitch. Seeing that the sig had passed all right with its links, I had a go at editing my post to reformat the links in it, but once again I got the "Web links are not allowed in this post" message.
(PS I did try logging out and logging in again to see if that woul help, but it did not.) _________________ MacBook Pro

Yes, you are right. My donation stars have suddenly disappeared. I wonder if this is because the donation has just passed its anniversary. Mind you, Patrick's post on the subject of donations and stars suggested they would persist for two years (though that is not a reason for not donating more frequently). Then again, I see my moderator privileges as a Councilperson remain. No doubt we'll find out when its waking up time in California. In the meantime its no problem. _________________ MacBook Pro

Your assumption about what happened is correct: your last donation was over a year ago so when you tried posting, the Trinity code recalculated your donations over the last year and got zero. As a result, your stars were reset to zero and you hit our "no links can be posted by non-donors" spam protection code.
So, this morning Fran manually posted a fake donation for you. We do this for most of the moderators as they earned their moderator status by donating lots of time providing volunteer support for our users.
BTW, good catch on the typo in my original post. The code has always used the last year to calculate donation stars so I corrected the post that you linked to.
