I'd find this very handy, as I have other Mac users sending me files in iWork formats, and there doesn't presently seem to be filters for these in NeoOffice. I tried ODT, thinking that perhaps iWork is compliant, but it didn't work.

There are currently no direct ways to import iWork files into OpenOffice/LibreOffice/NeoOffice or vice versa. The only option for the moment is to get your colleagues to export their files as MS Office docs, such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc. - which NeoOffice etc. can happily read and write.

To add onto yoxi's post, I want to add why your new feature request is not feasible for us to implement.

Apple's iWork document formats are proprietary. As a result, no other application other than iWork knows how to parse iWork files. The apparent goal of iWork is to lock iWork users into using only iWork for their documents.

Because of Apple's proprietary document formats, being able to implement the ability to read them would likely require, at a minimum, years of engineering work to reverse engineer the structure of Apple's proprietary formats and then map that structure to NeoOffice's document structure.

Since there is only one NeoOffice engineer (me) and I am no document format reverse engineering effort, such a project is way too large for the NeoOffice project to take on.

Thanks for taking the time to respond pluby. I fully understand. I'm happy to stick with NeoOffice and follow yoxi's advice to ask the senders to use Microsoft Office formats.
