I noticed when NeoOffice opens a spreadsheet file that contains many sheet will become very slow. It needs to undergo the procedures of "Loading Documents" then "Calculating" before it actually opens the file.
I'm wondering if there is a way to make it open a file faster? Maybe omit the step of "Calculating" ?
You can turn off automatic recalculation of all cell values for a particular spreadsheet document by opening the document, unchecking the Tools :: Cell Contents :: AutoCalculate. After doing that, the next time you open the document no cell recalculation will occur and the cell values saved in the file will be displayed.
Note that while turning of automatic recalculation can speed up loading of large, complex spreadsheet documents, you will need to remember to manually force recalculation if you make any changes to the document by selecting the Tools :: Cell Contents :: Recalculate.
If loading of your spreadsheet document is still exceedingly slow after turning off automatic recalculation, can you attach a sample document that we can use to try to reproduce what you are seeing? Instructions for attaching a sample document are in this forum post.
