Is it normal that everytime I choose the 'properties' window, in FILE menu, the windows appear in the same position (under the dock for me, 'cause I have the doc in left side)?

The Tools-Configure window always appears at top-left for me, too. Neo/J doesn't remember the positions of dialog windows/palettes (or maybe just some of them?) - but then neither does OOo X11, so I think it's just that Neo/J draws them in a different place from OOo X11. X11 puts the Configure dialog in the middle of the screen, Neo/J puts it at top-left. Actually, if it's going to be a fixed position, I'd rather it was in the middle, because my cursor's more likely to be near it when it appears Smile

Is there anything that can be done about the dialog/palette opening positions, or is it an OOo code issue and we're stuck with them as they are?

The palette positioning may be a bit trickier as 1.1 changed the palettes to top-level windows as opposed to the in-window floaters like 1.0. There also seems to be only one palette active at the time as opposed to 1.0 which had up to one per window. I'm not sure if the positioning code is aware of the change but I seem to recall it worked OK in 1.0.

I think there might have been some tweaking in the Patch-5 timeline that changed the behavior of some of these, as I remember more of them staying put or opening centered than do now.

Preferences (and hey, how cool is it that no hack is needed for that now!) always seem to open centered on the document.

Edit: Patch-6 seems to have resolved them all to open document-centered.
