|
I am updating my resume. I keep being asked to provide an MS Word format
document. I don't want to spring the money for Word (and I'm reluctant
to have any Microsoft apps on my Macintosh), so I'm using OpenOffice
Writer. I have a problem with "bullet-lists": the font that the bullet
character is in doesn't seem to ordinarily be on a Windows machine.
The "bullet" character is in the ZapfDingbats and the Lucida Grande
fonts on my machine. (I'm not sure what other non-oriental fonts it is
in.) It isn't in any of the common Times-Roman, Arial, etc., that would
be typical for resume text. It also isn't in my Symbol font, but might
have been in a "SymbolHSet2" font on a Windows machine -- I don't have
immediate access to that machine, but have exchanged text with its owner
via PDF files attached to email. I don't think that either ZapfDingbats
or Lucida Grande are typical Windows machine fonts.
Does anyone know what fonts that are typically available on Windows
machines (or that come ordinarily with MS Word or MS Office) have
the bullet character? And does anyone know if that font is available
for Macintosh? Thanks. |
