Hi. I've newly installed OO on a Mac w/10.3.9 and have clicked on start OO icon attempting to launch it. I get the "where is your preferred X Window serve?" question. I have no idea what an X Window server would be and have a huge list of application before me. Can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to select? And if it's something literally called X Window, I don't have that, so where could I get it, if there's such a thing?

Thanks,
sb

You'll want to point it at "X11.app" in "/Applications/Utilities". That's the Apple X11 X Window Server.

The X11 User program is on the Panther installation disks and this is the package you want to install, not the X11SDK. I found X11 on the Tiger disk under Optional Installed Packages. The package is also available on the Apple web site, but you will have to search for it.

Another option (and, IMHO, a simpler one) is to download and installed NeoOffice/J. It is essentially OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 without the need for X11.

You can find NeoOffice/J here:
