Props to Florian for the response on the location of some of those image files in CVS.

Patrick Ed, anyone, has this enabled you to track down the images in CVS for NeoOffice 1.1?

I tried using the numbers as slots in a slotlist but that just corrupted my profile (which, being a blonde, I had not backed up). So, no easy replacing here...

How about here (well, the corresponding location in the official OOo source/CVS for 645, of course)?

So I'm here apologizing for letting things slip on the neo-iconer front like I have. I've been busy, but it's no excuse.

I hearby promise to post a new version of NeoIconer by this time next week, with all of Oscar's hard work included.

Very sorry,
Brett

OK, so far so good, then. Who can/will make a 24x24 version of the file icons to act as a replacement for the new document icons?

Oscar

P.S. Thanks, Brett. Looking forward to it!

You need 24x24 [file format] of the Finder icons? I can do that, if you give me some details about which ones and what formats...I haven't been following the details of this effort much.

Smokey

P.S. Oscar, you have a PM on another subject....

Well, 24x24 is the maximum, but most icons are actually 22x22. So the latter (or both) would be best. We'll need them in BMP format, I think, but some transparent PNGs would be useful too (for OOo2, later). I don't know what background colour the standard icons have. Best check the existing pictures from the link that you gave me.

As it stands, the icons identified in the slotlist file are as follows:

-text document
-spreadsheet
-presentation
-drawing
-html document
-master document
-formula
-labels

I suppose these can all be put in a toolbar and therefore need an icon.

Just answered it. Misread it the first time and put it on the "big job to do" list. I hope it makes sense.

Off to bed now,
Oscar

PostPosted: Wed May 11, 2005 7:28 am    Post subject: can't get neo-iconer to work

i downloaded and followed the instructions, but no luck. i keep getting the following:

found quickInstall auto-config file
ThemeDir: Aqua/22x22/
icon-size = (22,22)
num icons: 171
NeoOffice config directory:
/Users/markgamble/Library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1/user/config/soffice.cfg/
couldn't execute "convert": no such file or directory
while executing
"exec convert -size $len$x$cy xc:$bg $out1"
(file "Neo-Iconer.tcl" line 669)

Any suggestions? Would really like to get this to work.

Using current version of NeoOffice on OSX 10.3.9

Thanks,
Mark

I thought "convert" was a Unix Terminal command that was part of ImageMagick. I would check to see if your ImageMagick install is complete. I believe you need IM insatlled to be able to "convert" images, etc. through the Terminal.app command line. Also, check your path, normally "convert" comand would be in /usr/bin but it might be somewhere else, like /usr/sbin instead but since it's not in your path, for example, Terminal.app can't find it.

And if this post is out in left field, please disregard and my apologies...

Argh, I've got to do something about the ImageMagick install, it seems to be all the problems (hopefully, it's a rarer problem due to the fact that most wouldn't post if it works.)

From terminal window, type 'which convert'. Chances are you'll get no response, because it sounds like it's not in the path (but we should confirm.) Then go to the finder and search the local harddrives for 'convert' and let me know the path that it finds.

I'll be at my computer most of the day. In fact, I think it's time I did a re-install of my own instructions.....

Hey thanks for the quick response!

Sure enough, 'which convert' produced a command not found message.

BTW, I did run the ImageMagik installer--twice. Any suggestion on how to proceed now?

Thanks!

If you used the installer from my website, then type (from the terminal window):
ls /usr/local/bin/convert

The computer should respond:
/usr/local/bin/convert

(and not:
ls: /usr/local/bin/convert: No such file or directory)

Let me know if that's the case....

it did, in fact, respond with

Usage: /usr/local/bin/convert [options ...] file [ [options ...] file ...] [options ...] file

plus a whole list of options.

Now what? (and again, thanks!)

i failed to type the "ls" in front of the "/usr/local/bin/convert"

Anyway, when I type the command you posted, I do get:

/usr/local/bin/convert

in response.

Okay, I'm going to fix this once and for all. Check back in a few hours (let's say, three) and I'll have something that will work for you and anyone else having this problem.
