the NeoOffice/J Screenshots page is the most popular one in the wiki, with nearly twice as many page views as the second-most viewed page (the wiki home page)?

Random thought of the day brought to you by the letter S, the number 28, and the color blue....

In Germany, we have a proverb: "The eye joins eating" Wink

Seriously: I suppose, when NeoOffice/J is mentioned somewhere on the web, there will be a link to some screenshots. I like watching screenshots of programs, too.

yeah, i think so. it would be really good page on the wiki i believe.

things like: word docs shown in both programs
graphs! spreadsheets!
presentations!
ed!
use of MySQL (which i have a feeling is really cool, if i knew what to do with it)

and, if anyone has done stuff (like i did a chapbook) with Neo/J and wants to brag about how cool Patrick is, we could post that too.

Yes, may be some text documents with a mix of arabian, russian, japanese and an indian font.

The spreadsheets could include some pie charts and the presentations should look just good (any artist here) Wink

Yes, a few testimonials or something like Apple's "switch"-area would be great.

Smokey? This sounds like a job for you Smile.

Spreadsheets I can do. As for the presentation: put up a picture and link it to the flash export of the presentation.

Search the forum for any headings with 'thank' in it. You should find a dozen or so.

There's already some Arabic in the screenshots up there Smile (But that'd be a good document to compare with MSWD, since it doesn't have RTL support!--and I don't recall how its Indic/South Asian support is.)

There have been some intriguing mentions of the South Asian support here and there in trinity (and actually a bug in bugzilla), but I don't know any South Asian languages, so I'm not much of a help.

Perhaps, though, we could come up with a brief text ("NeoOffice/J is really cool and supports writing in many different scripts, all in one document!") and put out a call for translations and put it all together?

I'm also looking for another quality screenshot to go along with Patrick's official one for our listing at VersionTracker (we get two screenshots), something from Calc perhaps.

So when you do your Calc/chart screenshots, please think about that, too.

Smokey

those are great, thanks!

i'll post them to the server so they can be linked from the wiki.

question for you... think you would have time to write up how to set up a quick database thing like you did? i think that would be great information for the wiki.
