Hi everyone,

Either Patrick has pulled another one of his nice surprises, or someone hacked the downloads. In any case, I hadn't seen any announcement since patch 11.

Have I just missed something?

Oscar

I'm receving a lot of bugzilla 'closed' of old bug from pluby, so I think he is cleaning the house for the release candidate.

I am typing as fast as I can. I usually send out the announcements right after I update the website. However, I have been busy fussing with all the typos that I added when I updated all of the web pages this morning.

I will be posting the formal announcement later today. For all those who already have "Patch-11" installed, Neo/J 1.1 Release Candidate is "Patch-11" plus OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 so, hopefully, you won't see any changes when you upgrade.

I installed release candidate, I start it and my user folder is gone again, deleted. I quit neooffice, copy the backup I done this morning, restart neooffice and again neooffice delete my user folder...

can I preserve my old preferences using release candidate instead the beta?

The code in Neo/J 1.1 Release Candidate is the same code in "Patch-11" (I uploaded the Release Candidate almost a week ago). So, if you are seeing the ~/Library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1 directory get deleted, then you have found a really good test case for bug 651. Can you attach a zip file of your old preferences to bug 651 so that I can see what is causing this deletion?

As I wrote it was a blunder. Today, when I lost the user folder I see neooffice was asking me to register.
So when I installed the release candidate and neooffice asked me to register I thinked I was in the same bad situation.

Looking for macro and query, all is in the right place, thank you.

I forgot about that "feature". When you install a new Neo/J release, it causes the prompting of the registration dialog.

For purposes of the wiki, would it be fair to call this "release candidate 1"? It's possible there will be new release candidates, correct?

(I'm gonna go with RC1 unless I hear otherwise Wink)

I called it Release Candidate as I really think that the next big release will be final. Sure, there are a few bugs, but they seem to be localized to very specific cases and it appears to me that Neo/J is getting close to being as stable as OOo 1.1.4 on other platforms.

But, then again, I may be out of touch with reality. Wink
