I've just downloaded NeoOffice/J 1.1RC with OS 10.3.8 as a new user and am VERY impressed! My main area of use will be with converted Excel files. But, there's always a 'but' isn't there Sad, I've been totally unable to save a Configuration with a Document. I've followed the detailed instructions in the Help file and saved 'All files' etc. but without any success.

When I come to reload the document I find the Configuration has NOT been saved at all and, also, ALL of the menu headings on the menu bar have vanished apart from the far L.H. one labelled NeoOffice/J Crying or Very sad

Just how do I save individual configs with documents? Each one of a number of different documents requires a different config. and having to fiddle around after opening one is a real pain.

I don't the answer to your configuration question, but I do know why the menubar looks funny. Since Neo/J is based on OpenOffice.org and OpenOffice.org is really a Windows application, each window has its own separate menu. So, when you click one of the floating windows (e.g. the Stylist or Navigator windows), you see the floating window's menu which is usually nothing since most floating windows have no menus.

To get the menubar to redisplay the document's menus, just click on the document window. This will make the document window the active window.

Apparently the menubar items had vanished from an active document because of a corrupt preference file since Neo/J crashed a little later and was only recoverable by trashing user/Library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1 and starting anew.

Saving configurations with a document still remains a total mystery Crying or Very sad
