After updating to Patch 4, my spreadsheet and text templates were no longer working. When I opened a new spreadsheet or text doc, I got the OOo standard instead of my customized one.
Investigating ~/Library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1 showed two folders, a new one named "user" and an older one named "user.backup.200529152129". Thinking I was clever, I tried renaming them so I could use the backup, but that just created a NEW backup.
I chose Templates/Organize, and it appeared that my default dox were there, but they definitely didn't work. I restarted NOJ, then, when I tried Templates/Organize again, I was surprised to see the dox there but apparently no longer "in force" in the right-side picklist. I chose Make default (first on the spreadsheet, then on the text doc), and that seems to have fixed the problem.
I noticed this once before, maybe Patch 2 or 3...Should we expect to have to do this after a patch, or am I missing something? Cheers, _________________ Gib Henry
This is not caused by the patch. Instead, you are seeing bug 651 occur. Something in your user preferences is causing the OOo code to go into "repair" mode. What Neo/J does is make a backup copy of your user preferences your user preferences get recreated.
Can you attach a zip file of the "user.backup.200529152129" directory to bug 651? I would like to see what is in those files that the OOo code doesn't like.
