When I try to change my language settings, by going to

Auto Pilot > Install New Dictionaries

I get these two error messages:

Error 1
Error loading BASIC of document
fil:///Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/OpenOffice.org1.1.2/user/basic/dialog.xlc/:
General Error.
General input/output error

Error 2
Error loading BASIC of document
fil:///Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/OpenOffice.org1.1.2/user/basic/dialogs.xli/:
General Error.
General input/output error

And then nothing happens

When I try the same procedure again, nothing happens, not even the error messages.

I read about similar problem in the qa project problems list as bug 30848.

and they suggested that the problem was changing the directory structure after install.

But I haven't touched the directory structure since install so I don't know what the problem is.

Just an apdate.

I checked the appropriate directories (And my entire hard-disk) and I have no dialog.xlc file anywhere.

I'm using a G4 iBook and OSX 10.3.8

It's possible that your user settings have been corrupted somehow; I have a copy of that file in the appropriate location for every version of OOo and Neo I have installed.... It's also possible that more than just this file is missing....

You can move your Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/OpenOffice.org1.1.2/ folder aside and the entire hierarchy should get recreated properly; you'll lose your current settings, though....

Thankyou. I'll try that and see how it works
