Hi,

while completely de-charging the battery of my Powerbook in hope of getting a correct battery-remaining-time-value with 10.2.8 after, I've surfed to the trinity-Board from my Linux-Server with its browser konqueror - and was very astonished! There were more headlines shown as in Safari!

After putting my Powerbook back to power, I've tried out Camino and trinity.org. There were shown more headlines than with Safari, too. I've found out, that it depends on the selected forum language, if more or less headlines are shown. It seems, that ony "English" as selected language shows you all messages.

Look here for German: http://schlesi.is-a-geek.org:8080/Temp/trinity_de

Wow, I didn't realize that this was affecting the forums. I started noticing this a bit back through the admin system where its "stories" page started reporting newly posted articles as English only instead of "all" languages. I can't think of anything I changed...or why the language menu doesn't also have that "any language" option.

I found the problem: the admin screens default to your preferred language (in my case English). You have to change this to "All" which is at the very end of the "Languages" list.

It's not very obvious, but easy to remember. Let me know if my latest NeoOffice/J posting does not show up when viewing the site in German.

It seems to work now correct with the german language setting.

On a note similar to some topics from the dev@porting list...does anyone want to offer to translate the storeis that go up on the site? If your'e interested in translating content and stories on the site into a native language, contact me and we can set up appropriate accounts so you can do the translation. This should also let folks set up forums in other local languages, but I'm not sure if there's sufficient interest.

Hi Ed,

I could provide the german translation.

You can reach me via email (schlesix@gmx.de) or iChat (AIM:schlesix).

Hi guys Smile

There's something wrong with your Vietnamese forum text. Some of the accents display correctly, a lot don't, when set to utf-8. I have no difficulty viewing other Vietnamese sites. I think it's possible both utf-8 and Latin-1 accents have been used, but that's only a guess. And guessing is all you can do, faced with that jumble of text... Smile

If you need it re-entered, checked or done again, I'm happy to help.

I'll post about Vietnamese localization elsewhere.

Thanks for all the work you do.

Yeah, I haven't done any investigation into the foreign language copy. The translations are actually coming form the PHP Nuke/phpbb code, so it's very possible there are some type of errors in the translation that was done in those projects.

You may want to check out phpnuke and phpbb to see if they've had any Vietnamese translation fixes since v 6.5. I've only done security auditing myself and haven't made updates to any of the translation strings.
