In trying to open .pdf, I discovered I can not open my preferences. It just sits there a nd does nothing.

I even updated my installation, nothing is better.

Preferences is just a shortcut for choosing the "Tools > Options" menu item and is addressed in Patch 0. There is no difference between the two menu items as they go to the same place. It's not related to the PDF but rather a known issue with 1.1 Final.

In other words, do you have NOJ 1.1 with patch 0 installed?
