Hello
I love neoOffice for my Mac but I absolutely hate the automatical additions of text when I start to write a word. I didn't find any button where I could deactivate this feature. Can anybody give me a hint? By The way: the caracters look much nicer in neooffice than in Word for Mac. No idea why but this why I would like to stick to neooffice.

To disable word autocompletion: in the English version, you go to the menu and click on Tools-AutoCorrect/Autoformat... then in the dialogue, choose the tab Word Completion and uncheck Enable word completion. If your NeoJ is not in English, translate accordingly!
There are some nice options in that tab to play around with how word completion works, if you're using it. Oh, and you can have different settings on a per-language basis too - neat.

Edit: so far, I can find no shortcut to turn this option on/off. I was trying to write a macro to do it, but can't find the appropriate command. |

| I tried this but it didn't have any effect - I did not even find the according tab in my german version which really matches the english version. Seems you like this feature? I didn't find the mentioned nice options. For me it doesn't seem to work at all because the tabs I activate do not work and the features I activated work instead - just the other way round it should be. |

Anja, are you sure? In the German version the tab for Word completion (Wortergänzung) is situated above the other tabs (above Ersetzung, Ausnahmen, Optionen, Typographische Anführungszeichen) within "Extras > AutoKorrektur/Autoformat". If you cannot see it can you move your ~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice folder aside to see whether this remedies the situation.

In the past, I have had a situation where something in those AutoCorrect/AutoComplete settings had gotten corrupted, so changing certain settings had no effect. If that's the case, the only solution is to move/delete you ~/Library/NeoOfficeJ-1.1 folder and let Neo/J start again with fresh settings....
