So, Jake's new main page design is nearly ready (or ready, IMO), and I think I've taken care of the bulk of the Rebranding of the English wiki for 1.2 aka NeoOffice.

There are still probably some pages using redirects, and all the links between the languages, in addition to most of the content in the French wiki itself, that need to be done/cleaned up (some to be done in time, others that would benefit from "sooner rather than later"), but the bulk of the stuff is now talking about that awesome app called "NeoOffice" instead of that odd app called "NeoOffice/J" Smile

I try to avoid making too much of a mess of the French wiki (just the language link-backs usually), so s'il vous plaît val et philippe et les autres, changez le texte et les titres dans le wiki français Smile Merci beaucoup!

Smokey

For those of you who are doing Wiki updates in preparation for the Neo 1.2 Alpha release, I will send you a link to the binary if you send me a PM.

I have not published the URL here because, in the past, search engines and software download sites have had a bad habit of linking directly to the binary which defeats our mirroring load balancing scheme.

Thanks,

Patrick

Most of the mirrors have already copied the binary (I thought that it would take several days) so a link is now not very hard to find.

Note: I've just updated a few items on the FAQ for OO.oX11 RC3 page:

i) the RC3 version of OpenOffice.org X11 has the name OpenOffice.org 2.0.app (note the space), so I've updated a couple of path references.

The only one I'm not sure how to make correct is the one in the section about StartOpenOffice.org, in its [versions] section:
Code:
 OpenOffice.org 2.0=file:///Applications/OpenOffice.org[space here]2.0.app/Contents/openoffice.org/

I wasn't sure if that URL works with just a space or whether, like a terminal command, it needs backslash-space (or even %20 or something). How do you signify a space in that line?

ii) also, RC3's prefs are not stored in ~/.openoffice2.org, but ~/.openoffice.org2, so I've updated the sections about backing up and deleting appropriately.

thanks yoxi, i'll get them updated here in the forums too.

i've updated the OO.oX11 part of the wiki so it should be better, more navigatible, etc. Also making last minute preparations to go live with the new front page.

FYI. I had to respin my build and reupload the Neo 1.2 Alpha binary this morning. So, if you downloaded it, I recommend that you redownload it. It has not made it to all mirrors yet but so if you downloaded from a non-planamesa server, PM me and I will send you the URL.

Am I missing something obvious, or does the wiki not tell you where to actually downlaod the apps/patches?

The download page is a little confusing. The wiki refers to NeoOffice 1.2 Alpha and says it is available, but the download page still refers to NeoOffice/J 1.1. Has the download page been updated yet?

No, it has not been updated. I am in a crazy rush today to finish updating all of the text, URLs, etc. before Smokey tells me that the Wiki is updated to Neo 1.2 Alpha.

Smokey,

Will it be OK if I push my Neo 1.2 Alpha updates to www.planamesa.com/neojava between 4:00 and 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time today? Or is that too early for you?
