I payed and got the link, username and password to download 2.0 earlier today. Since then I've been trying to download it and when it's let me transfer it's slow as frozen molasses, but the real problem is that it keeps stopping. I've never gotten more than 20% of the download and that took over 30 minutes to get. I finally broke down and installed a download manager (DownThemAll for Firefox). My DSL connection is testing at 96.3 kbps, but the speed of the download is bouncing between 0-15 kbs. I could deal with the speed, but when it's been moving that slow for 20-30 minutes, and then stops, and even the download manager can't pick it up again, so I have to start the whole process again - well, I'm getting really peeved. ( Mad I've literally restarted this download over a dozen times now! Evil or Very Mad ) What's going on?

Most likely, there is some flaky connection somewhere between your machine and our server.

Send an e-mail to the e-mail address listed in the e-mail that you received and we will try setting up some temporary direct links that will allow a resumable download manager to be used.

That phenomenon has puzzled me lately: Usually, Firefox & Safari know, that a download has been aborted, and (at least) Safari offers to resume it. But with downloads for NeoOffice (EAP builds, patches), both browser seem to think, the (aborted) download has been complete, so there is no chance of resuming. Only curl get's the point, and with
Code:
curl -C - -O '[adress]'

I can repeat the whole procedure, until the whole package is there (I haven't figured out though, how to persuade curl to handle login & redirection of the EAP).
Question then: Any idea, why an aborted download is identified as complete?

Most likely it is a bug in the PHP software that I use. The PHP software streams the file, not the Apache web server.

That is why I ask people who have problems downloading to send a e-mail to the contact address on their EAP confirmation e-mail as we can setup temporary direct links.

Based on doctype's comment I tried to curl the download link, but I was never able to get a single byte. So then I tried downloading it via Camino and after 3 patient hours (but only a single attempt), I had the whole disk image. Anyway, I hope this helps others who have problems, as well as being useful info for pluby/Patrick in diagnosing and resolving the problem for future downloads. [Note: my last attempt via Firefox I managed to get 96% of the download]

That is really nice & good, I'll probably use that for the next "big" load (=beta).

Yeah, the content protection & the redirect prevents curl there. But it's perfectly usable for the patches download, e.g the current patch (works for me):
Code:
curl -C - -O 'http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/downloads/patches/NeoOffice-2.0_Alpha_2-Patch-0-PowerPC.dmg'
