Now that I've got the build to handle yours and Smokey's released packages, dropping in a newer version should be trivial.

This is a bit different because my new additions are replacements for icons in the images.zip archive so it's not so simple to replace the existing files as it was with the icons, but I guess Smokey's already done some so you've got it sussed.

No problem, all my own work. It'll have the same copyright and GPL as before.

What I meant is that there's one icon file that is used for Text Template (all over the UI), the business cards, and the labels. So any changes would affect all three (and mess up Text Template) Sad
This from the same people who bring you 10 identical copies of some of the icons....

You really have to wonder what planet the UI designers are from. It's almost stupid enough to be funny... almost.

Nice work but i dont like that open (folder icon) and save (folder icon) are almost same icon. In Microsoft Office (Windows & Mac) and OpenOffice (Win, Mac & Linux) save icon is "disk" icon.

Like this:

I only replace all save icon from icon that i found in Iconic 0.9.2 CrystalPlus folder. Before i replace "save icons" i move "disk icon" 1 pixel lower in photoshop (looks better now).

Also Styles new info icon not seems match to styles funtion. Change that to other symbol/icon.

I see that older Akua theme was different Undo and Redo. I like it more because in new one Undo/Redo icons is too similar to Hyperlink icon. Those 3 icons (Undo,Redo,Hyperlink) looks same but they have 2 different funtion (Undo/Redo and Hyperlink). Please make some changed to those icons or take back old icons.

Old / New

Am I alone in thinking that a 3.5" disk icon is incongruous on a mac?

I agree. Maybe it would be more appropriate to have a hard disk icon Smile I'm happy enough with into-folder icon.

was it here? hmm. somewhere i read an extended talk/article about how the 'save' icon was in need of an update... but no one seemed to know to what. somehow years after computers have really used floppies, we still associate 'saving' with that little disk.

maybe that is the legacy it will leave, save = floppy disk.

in any case, for those up and coming artists, you find what can replace that floppy disk icon, you'll be remembered forever.

or at least for a week or so. =)

Well, personally I still associate saving files with pressing play and record on my portable cassette player. Smile

Andy

P.S. Will there be a Spectrum port of OpenOffice any time soon?! And if there is will it run in 16k of RAM or will I need the 48k upgrade? Wink

Some times ago someone at geekculture.com opened a 3d about this.

Some of the entry I like most are:
    A life jacket.

An animated roll of aluminum foil (as in leftovers).

A piggy bank (in a different context).

    File cabinets are obvious

The most important problem with these (except the ugly last one) is that they work in english but not in other languages (not work in italian at least).

Not at all. How about a USB memory stick with an arrow pointing in to it. Or an iPod (we are on a Mac, after all).

Then again, Tupperware has some interesting philosophical angles...

Best wishes,

I'm for an iPod (perhaps with an arrow, although I'm not sure) Smile

I'm against this.
A hard disk with that green arrow would be better IMHO Wink

harddisk is a good idea. remember, if it is too off (though i do like lifejacket) we will be constantly answering "where is the save button??"

How about a generic removable media disk (as a mounted dmg, instead the windoze floppy) with/without an arrow pointing in to it. The problem with hard disk with an arrow is that it could mean "install".

Thanks for the Feedback!

Do you know the whereabouts of the "Templates and Documents" images in the images.zip archive? I'm assuming you do since you've replaced some of them already. Can you add them to http://neowiki.sixthcrusade.com/index.php/NeoOffice_Icon_Spec_Sheet?

Done.

Wiki's down Sad

Can you post the file names here so I can start bulding the files for the new package?
