The anoncvs sync from our secure servers has recently been changed to sync only the active modules instead of lots of legacy code. In addition, the frequency of syncing has been updated to take place once every three hours (e.g. midnight PST, 3AM, 6AM, ...). This should allow changes to get pushed quicker to anyone using anoncvs, particularly during really heavy development periods like the last month.

If you encounter problems updating or the like from anoncvs after this change, please let me know.

I was able to update my workspace. No new problems to report.

However, I may have a problem with CVS which started a few days ago (I suppose it predates the anoncvs improvements). It has occurred during my threee last cvs updates. When I updated my workspace a few days ago, the two following files :

$NEO_HOME/neojava/desktop/source/splash/splash.cxx

$NEO_HOME/neojava/desktop/source/splash/splash.hxx

had a "C" status. I removed them (with Terminal, using rm) and updated my workspace. Both files were updated successfully. But now, it seems that the files cause a confilct every time I cvs update -d. It has happened during the two updates following the first one (which were separated by one or two days). I've never seen a file show up with "C" status three times. Is this normal ?

Yes, what you're experiencing with those files will be normal with CVS when combined with the symlinking strategy we use for derived modules. To remove it either remove and rebuild the whole checkout or remove and redo a "cvs co" for the module in question.

I get these errors myself and tend to ignore them, but that's because I tend to really follow what files are being updated. If you want cvs to do that for you, re-fetching the subdirectory in question might be the best way to go.

OK. As long as it's normal, that's fine. I was just worried that something might be wrong.

Off topic : how are the temperatures in California right now ? Is Trinity's server still in danger of a power outage ? What about humans (=tourists) ?

Humans are fine Smile Right now in SB it's only 74 so servers are fine. I don't honestly know what it's like for the rest of cali, though, so it's possible rolling blackouts may still happen.

Personally I'd rather let the electricity flow to the people that need it. Unfortunately that's not how the power grid works Sad

Well, I'm flying to the States tomorrow, and I'll be in California in a few days. Hopefully the weather will be nice to me Smile
