Best wishes,

And what other stops will there be in Europe, or let's say in Germany?

We are using NeoOffice in public schools for about 2 years now and we will start in september with the new beta version. As our office is about two km from the "Bureau Mondial du Scoutisme", i will be there with great pleasure ... just to see the heads of Ed and Patrick !!!

Not sure if we'll have other room to stop by anywhere else during our tour, but I know at least I will have a layover in Germany, but given the new security junk am not sure I can host an informal get-together in an airport terminal Sad

I still am thrilled that I can finally visit Switzerland for the first time!! It's really cool that hopefully some other folks can stop by who can't make it into Lyon.

Really, the reception Patrick and I are receiving is truly overwhelming to me. I'm stoked to finally be able to meet some friends in person whom I've only ever met online. Regardless of the code, to me the friends you make are the most important thing in open source Smile

My french is also really really rusty, but I'll try my best for folks too. Unfortunately I never learned any tech vocabulary in French so I'm not sure how effective I can be Sad

And if you want to keep the friends you have in California, you better bring back a whole suitcase of Swiss chocolates!!!

Very Happy

There's also cheese, or, if you really like your friend, bring back a Swiss watch Smile

Your airline should be able to tell you. I trust you're going through Frankfurt?

Best wishes,
Oscar

Frankfurt on the way out, Munich on the way back. I really don't have much time anywhere though, just a couple hours, so I doubt I could organize anything other than a security scanning Wink

Well, the question is whether they let you out of the airport. I assume you're flying Lufthansa. While I have never flown with them myself, I hear they're reasonably friendly. And the german airport staff seem OK.

The point is that these airports are some way from the actual cities so finding a congenial cafe will be tough. OTOH, the Frankfurt airport is very well linked to the surrounding urban centres by train (I had to change ICE trains there once). Munich probably is as well.

For proper dark chocolate and beer -> Belgium.

Best wishes,
Oscar

Totally hear on Belgium. Belgan whites make me rethink the world order Wink

Yeah, looking over my tickets I don't think I have more than an hour or so in Germany. Doubt anything could be arranged. Anyway, at least we're hitting up Switzerland and France. It's not quite the crowned heads of Europe tour, but it's a start Smile
