Thanks for the help.

Yes, I have the official version: actually NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 patch 1.

I tried removing ~/Library/Preferences//NeoOfficed-2.x but without success. After the removal I start again NeoOffice, open t a file I've already created and that doesn't have the thumbnail, change it a bit, save and unzip it: NO thumbnail again!!!

I've already looked at all preferences as you have done and I wasn't able to find any point where is possible to remove the thumbnail. More than this, I had a look at openoffice.org and I found this. It's an issue that ask an option to NOT store thumbnails in documents. It seems that the request was not implemented!!!

So, what's wrong with my NeoOffice?

Dunno. Could you try unzipping with a command line tools or a Stuffit droplet rather than by double clicking? Maybe do
Code:
ls -al
in the folder to see hidden files...

I'm grasping at straws here..

best wishes,
Oscar

I checked a random selection of od* files I've created or modified recently, and only one had a thumbnail....

Strange, I'm finding Thumbnails using OOo Windows, but not in the sample I tried in NeoOffice.

Could this code have been turned-off in the NeoOffice code somehow?
It seems to be in OOo 2.0.3, maybe a compile flag or something?
Just guessing - have not reviewed the code. But many were surprised that it was in OOo code at all. Good Find Shocked

Philip ( Thumbnails would be nice, but not nicer then How Neo 2.0 looks and runs!! Very Happy )

\ IF Neo gets the pretty NEW Icons - WHAT will folks have to complain about?!?

Just a thought - is the generation of thumbnails related to the setting of that checkbox in that dialog: http://trinity.neooffice.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=22309#22309 by any chance? I'm away from my Mac at the moment Sad so I can't check myself.

As the origionator of the screenshot (and therefore with unique evidence that the "WTF" checkbox is ticked) I can say no. I don't get a Thumbnails folder in my Neo-saved odt files either, but my wifes win odt files do.

So it seems that we have found a different behaviuor betweeen NeoOffice (but it seems also OOo X11 mac edition has the same behaviour) and OOo for other platforms.
Should I file a bug?

I guess Ed and Patrick have a little more hunting to do Smile. It must be buried in the code /somewhere/.

Oddly enough, I DO have a Thumbnail file in my .ODT files, all of which made using NeoOffice Beta 3 Patch 1. How curious...

Yeah, I'm sure it's there Smile Unfortunately I've been travelling for the past two weeks and haven't had more time to get into the preview stuff. Needless to say it will be incredibly useful for Time Machine...

Perhaps in 45m here in Lyon we'll be going through what we're going to be looking at for 2.0 final and the future, but we'll see if Patrick gets back from lunch in time Wink
