Hi,
is there a possibility to disable the automatic pop-up of the toolbars (e.g. when your curser is inside a list, the list-toolbar lays itself on top of the text-window which can be really annoying).
I searched for this function in the help files but did not find anything.

I too am annoyed by this behaviour. It was introduced in OOo 2.0; previously in 1.x the toolbars would show up in the toolbar area like expected.
One way that you can "disable" this is to "dock" the toolbar the first time it pops up in its own window. To do this you'll need to drag the floating window onto the Writer (or other component) window until a heavy outline appears showing where the toolbar will go (horizontal vs. vertical, etc.). It's similar to Windows and unfortunately there's no real equivalent in most Mac applications. If you drop it in the wrong place, grab the dotted area on one of the toolbar edges and then you can drag it to a new location in the window.
After it's "docked", each time the toolbar is visible instead of being a floating window it will be put into the document window in question. The "docked" state of toolbars is stored in your user preferences, so if you're using multiple user accounts you may need to do this on a per-user basis.
Unfortunately I don't know of a way to disable the automatic toolbar adjustment behaviour. It was done by OOo designers because it's considered to be "helpful". In reality, I too find it just really annoying If anyone knows a way to turn it off, please share!
