neooffice somehow has become the default for pdf files. How do I stop this and restore preview?

Thanks-

This is probably related to your browser settings. I use Firefox, and whenever I click on a download link, it asks me what to do with it (open with a particular app or save it.) I have the option to "automatically do this with similar files." Sounds like maybe you accidentally tripped this setting in your browser.

If it were happening with pdfs you click on your hard drive, the solution would be to select a pdf file in Finder, choose "Show Info" and change the "Open with" drop down, and then click the "change all" button.

just tried it, no luck. I use firefox as well. When opening from the hard drive it's no problem, just when I am on the web. Just checked Safari and no problems there.

well I wish I could say I did something, but I didn't. I went to "show info" and changed the default to preview, which it was already set on so I just redid it the same way, went on the net to test it and nothing was different. Later in the day Firefox asked me to set a preference on pdfs out of nowhere.

The self-healing of macs passeth all understanding, or something... it's probably a cache cow situation.
