I recieve an xls document as an attachment by email, drag it to the desktop, close the mail, change it to read-write, and open it with 2.1
It has many lines with option buttons. When i click on one it's OK. When I click on the next one, it's selected but the previous is no longer. The check boxes work OK as does the text. It all works on a Mcwindow machine. Any ideas? Gotta get it to work, any info would be deeply appreciated

Ray,

I was just reading up on Option Buttons in NeoOffice/OpenOffice.org today. I was mostly interested in their use in forms related to a database, so I can't be absolutely certain that what I'm about to say applies to Calc documents, but for what it is worth...

The NeoOffice on line help specifies that option buttons only allow one option to be selected in any given group. Maybe Excel handles this differently?

You might also check the OpenOffice.org Migration Guide. Normally I can provide the url, but I'm working from a different computer at the moment. If search for "Migration Guide" in these forums you will no doubt find other posts from me with the link.
Very Happy

Thanks for the input. I'll do some more checking as suggested. If there's nothing there, I may be up that proverbial creek.

Welcome to NeoOffice Arde,

It's true - "Option buttons" 'should' allow only ONE items to be selected.
If more are desired then "Click boxes" should be used in the design.

I just ran into this problem. Seem our pal Microsoft does not always obey the rules/standards and you can have multiple selected "Option buttons" (problem found on Web pages and Excel sheets). YMMV

It's a problem and one that MS is unlikely to correct.
It's still worth doing some more research.
Check the Migration Guide ( http://documentation.openoffice.org ) at OOo for Calc items.

Philip ( Add another thing the MS does wrong ... and forces the world to follow! Evil or Very Mad )
