|
Hi,
I just got an email concerning NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 Patch 2 released
I am told: "Patch 2 can be downloaded from the following URL:
http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/patch.php
1) When I go there I read: Download NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for free
2) OK, I click that Download NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for free
3) I get to http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/de/download.php#download
and there I can choose NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for Power PC.
4) I click "PowerPC" and get right back to where I came from: Download NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for free
I don't want to click in circles. What is wrong or what am I doing wrong?
(BTW I would have used my registration nickname gavagai, but the forum-editor does not like it; so I tried a new registration, but that didn't work either. It said: email already registered - which I knew before; but I can't log in) |

Btw, there's a spelling error on the Dutch version. The first paragraph has the word 'hebbeb', which should be 'hebben'.
Best wishes,

FYI. I have just corrected this typo.
Thanks,

Yes, there I get to NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 Patch 2
Then I download 9,3 MB and proceed to install the 9,7 MB NeoOffice.pkg package
and finally I am told to install NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3. And I am right there where question comes in:
1)Download NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for free
2) OK, I click that Download NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for free
3) I get to http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/de/download.php#download
and there I can choose NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for Power PC.
4) I click "PowerPC" and get right back to where I came from: Download NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for free
I don't want to click in circles. What is wrong or what am I doing wrong?
So I can't install the Patch before I have not installed 2.0 Beta 3.
And when I try to install 2.0 Beta 3 I get into a viscious circle. |

OK. No offense, but you seem to not get the fact that "Aqua is here!
Download NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 for free" is a news section and appears on every page. Maybe you are using very small browser windows or a very low resolution screen, but when I click on PowerPC in the download page, I see the following text below the news section:
Code: | You can download the NeoOffice-2.0_Aqua_Beta_3-PowerPC.dmg file from any of the mirror sites listed below. The download includes both binaries and source code. These sites have limited bandwidth so if you cannot connect, please be patient.
Important: Nach der Programminstallation sollten Sie die neuesten Fehlerkorrekturen herunterladen und installieren. Diese finden Sie hier. |
Below this text are several "NeoOffice-2.0_Aqua_Beta_3-PowerPC.dmg" links.

There's always the option of purchasing an install cd:
http://www.planamesa.com/neojava/en/cd.php#1
You'll have the immense satisfaction of overcoming the download problem while contributing direct and very real support to the project. Take a look at some of the other threads in these fora to see the 'real value' of this software.
(Honestly, after spending several hours today eliminating a Microsoft Word macro virus on the loose in a few of our computers today, it's definitely worth being able to open .doc files without triggering the infection on the host computer....) _________________ Ray Saunders

Thanks Ray,
you don't have to convince me. Since I realized that WORD is to dumb to handle footnotes ranging over a page break I am on the Staroffice / Open Office and now NeoOffice track. I bought my first Staroffice CD in 1999. |
