got the problem listed here when i installed patch 6, was disappointed when i couldn't find a way to go back to patch 5, installed the bug fix from 10/26 (thanks pluby) on bug 1715, and now it seems to be working fine. if i get more problems i'll be back.
thanks btw to everybody here for making free software be the shit. |

Well, Java on my XP installation under Parallels just updated itself to 1.5.0_09, so maybe we're due a new version from Apple sometime soon that fixes some of these issues.

So I would like to make the test patch an official patch. However, there is one thing that worries me. Someone posted in bug 1715 that the test patch caused a crash but they did not post a crash log or any other data. Has anyone seen similar problems with the test patch?

Looking good here too. It's only been a couple of days, but no signs of lost keystrokes or crashing.
Thanks pluby! |

Sounds like the current test patch is ready for release. If I don't see any crash log show up in bug 1715, I'll release "Patch 7" with the curernt fix tomorrow.

FYI. The fix is now in Neo 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 Patch 7. Patch 7 can be downloaded from the NeoOffice patch download page.

It is my understanding that patch 7 includes a fix for at least one other bug, in addition to the keyboard focus issue. Generally it is a good idea to update each to each patch as it comes out. |

Correct--and if you ever report another issue (when, rather than if, I'm sure ), the first thing we'll ascertain is whether or not you're running the latest patch.

So now that it seems bug 1715 is fixed for Java 1.5 users, I have seen some reports that Java 1.4 users are also seeing the bug.
In Patch 7, I only had the fix enabled for Java 1.5 so I have posted a test patch at the end of bug 1715 that enables the fix for Java 1.4 as well.
Can some people try out this test patch, switch to Java 1.4 for a while, and make sure that it doesn't mess things up when using Java 1.4?

I have a G5 10.4.8 and Java 1.4... There's no problem with the keyboard but I don't use calc... only writer as the alone word processor- |
