Template Management

"Guest" filed Bug 2104 and included some of the problematic templates. Using his templates, I have the same problem he reports: I can't get the templates to remain in the organizer. My own templates, both those I created and those I've downloaded, stay put without any problems.

If someone who uses OpenOffice.org could visit bugzilla and see if the same issue the thing happens there, that would tell us whether or not it is an OOo bug.

If the most important issue at the moment is easy access to your templates, one option is to put them all in a folder somewhere on your hard drive and then drag that folder to the dock. You can then click and hold the mouse on the folder on the dock to get a list of the templates. If you use Butler, QuickSilver, or Launchbar, you could probably set them up the access the folder, too. (Before I discovered the template organizer, I kept my most frequently used templates in one of Butler's menulets for quick access)

It's an OOo bug, whatever it was

Fortunately, it seems fixed in OOo 2.1.0, so it should go away in Neo 2.1
