|
I have just noticed that on both of my computers I can no longer use the Character Palette for inserting special characters into NeoOffice (it works for other programmes). What could be the reason?
Thanks for your help. |

I notice the same problem. I can drag and drop the selected character from the Palette into the document, but can't insert it.
Message at the bottom of the Palette :
"Couldn't set the application font. Please set it to "xxxx" in the application. But it doesn't work.

NeoOffice is not a built-from-ground-up-using-Cocoa application so it does not repond to the Character Palettes attempts to change the font. If the font is set to X in NeoOffice and you set it to Y in the Character Palette, that won't work until you change the font to Y in NeoOffice.

Thanks Patrick, but I put the same font in the document and in the Palette. It doesn't work. I can drag and drop the character, not copy-paste or insert it.

I may of course be wrong, but I am sure it used to work for me without fail. Now, even if the fonts in NeoOffice and in the Character Palette match, I cannot insert a character with the Insert command. |

If someone can file a bug in Bugzilla for this, I'll look at it when I have some time.
I did a quick test with a simple Java application and inserting works fine there so I think that the problem has something to do with NeoOffice loads Java.
