OK, here is something interesting. I was trying to format some letterhead using Writer. I had done a similar thing in Word in the past. In Word what you can do is make a text frame. Within the frame you can format per usual. When I do this with Writer, it formats quite differently. If I put in a line, and then hit enter, it moves down like it is double spaced. In order to get single spacing I have to hit shift-enter. I just guessed that sequence, but it worked. In any event, I cannot find any documentation about how to format within a frame. Any ideas about this? Now, I think I can format, and then make a frame around the items, and then move them where I want. But it seems like formatting within a frame should be the same as formatting outside a frame. Is this a bug, or normal behavior?

Daniel,

Which Paragraph Style is being applied when you first create the frame? By default, it appears to be the special Frame Contents style, which (by default) includes a 0.21cm space below paragraph.

Therefore, you only need to change the Frame Contents paragraph style in Styles and Formatting to what you desire. To use your revised version in all documents, you'll want to look into creating and assigning a new default template (it's in the wiki).

Trust this helps.

Very interesting! I will look into this. I am new to NeoOffice, and my old MS Office habits die hard!
