Hi all!

I'm using NO for a while now and I'm very happy about the Mac OSX integration and I want to thank you all for this port.

I don't know if this is the right place (and I didn't miss something) but it would be great if NO could provide a kind of quick start for auto-start during login where only the main part is loaded and no windows are open. Currently I always have to close the NO window manually each time I login into my Mac which is not much of a thing but getting annoying Wink

Just a thought.

Best

See this page, near the bottom, for a shell script that will do this.

Edited to fix the link. —mods

Hi everybody,

I was thinking about this and had a question?
- If I set Java to run as a Startup item (and how to do that?), would that (greatly) reduce the time that NeoOffice needs to load?
I think I've heard that that is one of the many causes of slow launches? Shocked

Patrick, Ed, et al?

Untrue. On my old G4 450 MHz machine, Java takes less than 2 seconds to load the first time after booting and less than 1 second successive times.

Most of the slower first time loading of NeoOffice is due to the shear size of the OpenOffice.org binaries. Nearly 100 MB of binary files must be loaded into memory for NeoOffice and OpenOffice.org to run. This is several times larger than other large applications like Firefox.

Thanks Patrick.

Gee, That kind of blows away the argument that NeoOffice is so slow loading because of ... Java. Confused
So 100 MB is 100 MB,

Philip ( wonders why all the complaints? Slow is slow? Wink )
