Hm, looks like I really opened up a can of issues here. In any case, I really hope the Neo and Ooo posses will find an understanding that will lead more users to the product that fits their configuration, their needs and their grasp the best. Open Source as a whole deserves that, and so do the users.

I can agree with the fact that even dummies have to learn computer basics (which I master), but I will always disagree with people who defend non-user friendly interfaces, navigation or what have you. Ergonomywise, democracywise, etc. Heck, I've seen enough elderly people suffer behind the computer, be it at home or in obligated courses ;-)...
Which is why I will happily run the risk of sounding like a harsh Dutchman ;-)

As far the rest, the can of worms has been out there for a while. It just gets kicked every now and then. And you happened to hit it this time .
