Hi,

I just upgraded to 10.3.2 and now when I try to print I get an error from Printer Utility that "The specified cusotm paper size is not supported in the selected paper tray."

In OOo's print dialog, na-letter-banner is, for some reason, now the default. I change it to na-letter, click ok, click ok to print, and get the same error message (from OS X's printer utility). I go back to OOo's print dialog and the size setting is back to na-letter-banner. This is just now happening with the Panther upgrade--printed fine with Jaguar.

I checked the settings in spadmin and all is right there.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much,

Tim

Did you check the paper size in the Format > Page panel? That should also be set to letter.

Also, what printer are you using? I've primarily only been using the generic postscript printer PPD on Panther and hadn't noticed any page size problems.

Yes, the Format>Page is fine.

I was using <deskjet 960c> on Jag, and for some reason that does not now work with Panther.

I tried generic printer and it printed fine....There you have it. :-]

Thanks so much,
Tim

I'm glad that the generic printer seems to have solved your issue Smile The only bummer is that you may lose access to some special options for your printer. Thankfully OOo doesn't provide much access to the special options anyway Wink

Well, the first step for us to debug this would be to examine the PPDs between the two OS versions for differences. The first thing that comes to mind as something to rule out is that Panther may have overwritten the PPD for Jag. Do you recall if you used just the drivers that came with the OS, or did you use a special HP driver installer or gnuprint on Jag?

Yeah, I don't expect much from OOo on my Mac at this point. It won't print italics, either. Doesn't really affect me much, so I'm not too concerned. What I am is patient.

And yes, I installed an HP driver on Jag. Do you think if I download and install it again, OOo will print when I choose my deskjet instead of generic?

If so, I may give it try, barring any laziness that might get in the way.
