I'd check, but I think that there may already be an OOo extension for integrating LaTeX equations into documents.

I believe you mean OOo LaTeX: http://ooolatex.sourceforge.net/
I don't know whether it works with Neo, but it seems much less flexible than the LaTeXiT approch.

I cannot install it neiher on PPC nor on an Intel machine, with 10.5.2. I get error messages:

on the Intel machine
Code:
loading component library failed:
file:///Users/jgd/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-2.2/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/xxCq91_/OOoLatex-4.0.0-beta-2-macosx.oxt.zip/lib/ppc/libEMF.1.dylib

on the PPC machine
Code:
file:///Users/jacqueline/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-2.2/user/uno_packages/cache/ uno_packages/ZRJwxT_/OOoLatex-4.0.0-beta-2-macosx.oxt.zip/lib/ppc/libEMF.1.dylib:
cannot get symbol:

I downloaded the OOoLatex 4.0.0-beta2-macosx release from here and I have no errors installing that release in NeoOffice 2.2.3 Patch 1.

OK. It works now. The first time I installed the .zip file and got the error messages. I needed to remove the .zip extension to avoid the problem.

I played a bit with it, it works, it's easy to use but the images embedded are not of first quality, very pale Sad

If you wanted to import a whole .tex file, it would be a little tricky…

I have seen the same errors while installing, but the plug-in works fine, nevertheless.
Result is a bit blurry for PNG in print, but usable.
For emf output one must install a few ttf fonts, but the result is impeccable.

It is not a bad solution, if one wants to quickly typeset some complicated math or just wants math with the "TeX look" typeset with Computer Modern fonts (and has a working tex instalation).
