A cell issue

New to the forum. Can anyone help me? The issue: I want to take the answer from Sheet 2, A1 and send it to Sheet 1, A1.

Sheet 1, A1 already has an existing number, but I want the answer from Sheet 2, A1 added to it, which in turn creates a new answer for Sheet 1, A1.

I believe it will answer one part of your question; linking cells from Sheet 1 to Sheet 2; as for updating the formula already in place; the link I've posted has more links to user guides and manuals

I'm just checking here, but your post says you want Sheet1 A1 to contain the result of Sheet1 A1 + Sheet2 A1 and that's not possible, to have Sheet1 A1 refer to its own contents.

If you want Sheet1 B1 (for example) to contain the result, the formula would be =A1+Sheet2.A1 - but unless the value in Sheet1 A1 is itself already a formula, you can't get the result in that cell. If Sheet1 A1 is a formula, then you can just add +Sheet2.A1 to the formula.

Note that the syntax differs from Excel, which would be Sheet2!A1.
