Hey all. I'm having a hell of a time opening a document as a spreadsheet. It is a .tab file, that is text/tab delimited and I just can't get NeoOffice to open it as a spreadsheet. What ability do I have to tell NeoOffice to open a document as a spreadsheet (or any other for that matter) or to import as data (again or text if doing something different).
Can't figure this out and I'm wondering if its currently possible.
Thanks for any help you could give. |

Just give it the .csv extension.
The OOo "guess what sort of file this is" code is pretty poorly-done, and for most files the only way to get them to load correctly is to have the "correct" extension on the file. In this case, any sort of delimited file needs to be given the .csv extension to get the "how should I import this raw data" dialogue in Calc.

When you did File > Open and selected your file, did you specify the Separator Options that match the files format?
If you tried importing it; the Separator Fields must match the file you are opening.
If those don't work try changing the extension to .cvs or .txt |
